LTR visa issuance
After you have received an email notifying that your qualifications for LTR visa have been endorsed by relevant government agencies, please follow the steps below to proceed with LTR Visa issuance pre-approval process.
1. UPDATE INFORMATION AND UPLOAD ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS IN THE LTR SYSTEM
Please log in to LTR Visa application system to update information or upload additional or updated documents by following the instructions below.
- Choose the location for LTR Visa issuance in Thailand or overseas*
- In case the applicant choses to have LTR visa issued at One Stop Center for Visa and Work Permit (OSS) in Bangkok, the applicant will be required to update latest travel information and upload passport pages with all Thai stamps (The file must be scanned both left and right pages per one sheet AND ALL SHEETS MERGED IN ONE PDF FILE), particularly biodata page, current visa which has been cancelled with the remaining permission to stay sufficient to receive LTR Visa*, last entry stamp of immigration, last extension of visa and the initial Thai visa used to enter Thailand (in case you have changed a visa type in Thailand before changing to the current visa type) (if any). E-Visa (if any), photocopy of TM.6 (if any)*, photocopy of TM.47’s receipt of notification (previous notifications of staying over 90 days or 1 year) (if any)*
after the updated information and additional documents have been submitted, the status of the application in the system will be changed to Status: Document Review for Visa / WP Issuance.
* Note:
- The location for LTR Visa issuance cannot be changed once the above information/documents have already been submitted.
- For visa issuance at One Stop Service Center for Visa and Work Permit (OSS Center), the applicant is required to be in Thailand and certain type of visa such as NON-B visa must be terminated with the remaining permission to stay sufficient to receive LTR Visa in Thailand.
- If you do not have TM.6 as you have entered Thailand after 1st July 2022 via air route, please fill “00000” in the TM.6 field.
- If you have lost TM.6 or TM.47’s receipt or you have passed the 90 days limit without making the 90-day reporting, you must get a police notice from any police station before the appointment and pay fine 2,000 Baht (fine applies only in case of failing to make the 90-day report) to the immigration on the appointment date
- If an applicant is currently on NON-Immigrant O for guardian, the evidence of the child’s current enrollment in an educational institution is required.
2. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR LTR VISA ISSUANCE
If the information and documents submitted in step 1. are considered complete and valid, applicants will receive an email informing you that your application has been approved for LTR Visa issuance. Then please make an appointment for LTR visa issuance in Thailand or make an arrangement for LTR visa issuance overseas by following the instructions below.
- In case of LTR visa issuance at OSS in Bangkok, your status now will be changed to Status: Visa/ WP Issuance Pre-approved. You can make an appointment for the LTR Visa issuance via LTR Visa application system and then print out the Notification of qualification endorsement for Long-Term Resident Visa, TM.94 form, STM.8 form and the appointment confirmation document / processing fee payment form for the system. Please note that the result of the qualifications endorsement for LTR Visa is valid for a period of 60 days after the Notification of qualification endorsement for Long-Term Resident Visa is issued. Therefore, please make an appointment and collect the visa before the result expires, otherwise you must apply for the qualifications endorsement again.
- In case of LTR visa issuance at Thai embassies or consulate generals overseas, your status now will be changed to Status: Final approval. You can contact the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General or visit e-Visa* website to make an arrangement for visa issuance overseas*
* Note:
- Please follow the instructions in No.4 COLLECT YOUR LTR VISA AT ROYAL THAI EMBASSY/CONSULATE-GENERAL FOR VISA ISSUANCE OVERSEAS
- E-Visa is available only in some Embassies/Consulates. To check if it's available in your area of residency, please go to www.thaievisa.go.th . Moreover applicant must apply for e-Visa via a specific Embassy/Consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency. The applicant is required to upload documents that can verify his/her current residency.
3. COLLECT YOUR LTR VISA
Guidelines for LTR Visa issuance procedures at One Stop Service Center for Visa and Work Permit (OSS)
Once you have successfully made the appointment for LTR Visa issuance at One Stop Service Center for Visa and Work Permit (OSS), please follow the guidelines below for visa issuance procedures.
Step 1 : Preparation of required documents for visa issuance (Prior to the appointment date)
- Log in to your LTR Visa account and print out the following documents and bring them with you on the appointment date.
- Prepare other required documents and fee to bring with you on the appointment date
- Biodata page showing name / surname / Passport No., ect.
- Current visa
- Last entry stamp of immigration
- Last extension of visa
- The previous visa before changing to the current visa (if any)
A. Application Form for LTR Visa (TM.94 Form)* – must be printed double-sided and signed
B. Appointment confirmation document and for LTR Visa processing fee payment form* and Digital Work Permit fee payment form (in case you applied for the Digital Work Permit)*
C. Criteria and Conditions Acknowledgement Form for a Temporary Stay Permit in the Kingdom (LTR Visa) (STM.8 Form)* – must be print double-sided and signed
D. Notification Letter from the Board of Investment to the Immigration Bureau within 60 days from the issuance date of the endorsement letter*
E. Original and photocopy of passport pages (biodata page and pages with visas and stamps) of yourself and your dependents** who wish to receive the visa on the same appointment date
F. Photocopy of documents proving relationship such as a marriage certificate AND the original and photocopy of Kor.Ror. 2 form (in case of a foreigner married to a Thai citizen), registration of child legitimization, household registration certificate or child adoption registration certificate, or other evidence from the government or relevant agency (for dependants)
G. One passport size photo (4 cm x 6 cm) (white background, dressed in business attire (t-shirt is not allowed) without wearing glasses or headgear, taken within 6 months (a photocopy or poor quality photos will not be accepted)
H. Original and photocopy of TM.6*** (front of your arrival/departure card) (in case you have entered Thailand before July 1st, 2022 or entered through the immigration control at land border checkpoints and have received TM. 6 card)
I. Original TM.47’s receipt of notification*** (previous notifications of staying over 90 days) (if any)
J. The LTR Visa processing fee of 50,000 THB per person per 10 years and the Digital Work Permit processing fee (for applicants who applied for Digital Work Permit only). The total work permit fee can be seen on the work permit payment form. The total fee is calculated base on the annual fee of 3,000 THB per person per 1 year) – Acceptable payment options include Thai mobile banking (QR code scanning) and cash only.
* Remarks:
* Dependents who receive the visa on a different date, must also bring the original passport of the main LTR visa holder ** If you have lost TM6 or TM.47’s receipt or you have passed the 90 days limit without making the 90-day reporting, you must get a police notice from any police station before the appointment and pay fine 2,000 Baht (fine applies only in case of failing to make the 90-day report) to the immigration on the appointment dateStep 2 : Visa issuance (on the appointment date*)
- Documentation check by LTR visa staff at the One Start One Stop Investment Center (OSOS): Please be on time on your visa issuance appointment date and contact the LTR visa staff at the reception counter of the One Start One Stop Investment Center (OSOS), 18th floor, Chamchuri Square Building, Bangkok for the documentation check. You will get the documentation check receipt from the LTR visa staff after the documentation check is complete. Please note that the documents in Step 1 are the prerequisite for the subsequent steps of the visa issuance. If any is missing, THE VISA CANNOT BE ISSUED.
- Digital Work Permit fee payment at the Department of Employment’s payment counter: (for applicants who applied for Digital Work Permit) Please bring the printed Digital Work Permit payment form and proceed to the Department of Employment’s work permit for LTR counter to collect a queue number for work permit issuance and once your queue is called, please proceed to the payment counter to pay for the Digital Work Permit fee.
- Photo taking at Single Window section: Please proceed to the Single Window’s photograph-taking section and hand the printed appointment confirmation document together with the documentation check receipt to the officer and have your photo taken. (Your photo will be uploaded to the Single Window and LTR Visa system.)
- Documentation check at the Immigration’s information counter: After the photo taking, please proceed to the Immigration’s information counter and submit the required documents for LTR visa issuance to the Immigration officer for the documentation check and collect the queue number for LTR visa issuance.
- Submit the documents to the immigration counter 11: Please submit the documents to Immigration’s counter 11 for LTR Visa issuance and wait in the immigration area until your name is called.
- Visa processing fee payment at the immigration payment counter: Please follow the Immigration officer’s guidance on the visa processing fee payment which must be paid at the immigration fee payment counter
- LTR Visa issuance at the immigration counter 11: Once the visa fee payment has been made, please return to LTR Visa counter 11 and show the receipt to the Immigration officer to have the visa stamped in your passport.
- Final visa check at the One Start One Stop Investment Center (OSOS): After you have received the visa, please contact the LTR visa staff at the reception counter of the One Start One Stop Investment Center (OSOS) to have your visa checked by the LTR visa staff. This is very important in order to have any wrong information corrected if any!

For Visa Sticker
- Kindly contact Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General of your choice to make an appointment for visa issuance
- Please prepare the documents, print out and fill in the forms as follows and bring them with you on the appointment date.
- Passport with the remaining validity of no less than 6 months
- Notification Letter for Qualifications Endorsement from BOI with has been issued for no more than 60 days
- Copy of documents proving relationship such as a marriage certificate, registration of child legitimization (for dependents)
- Visa application form
- Follow the guidance of a consular officer at each Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General to receive your LTR Visa on your passport.
Visa Fee * LTR visa processing fee at each Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General is based on the fee in Thailand (50,000 THB per person per 10 years), but may vary and is usually more than the fee in Thailand, depending on the currency rate and the additional fee which might be applied in some countries.
For e-Visa
- Please check your eligibility to apply for e-visa and submit the following documents via www.thaievisa.go.th
- Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document
- Declaration
- Photograph * taken within the last six months. If the photograph does not reflect your current appearance, you may be refused to enter the Kingdom of Thailand
- Letter from BOI
- Other documents as required
- E-visa will be issued and be notified via email and your e-Visa account
Visa Fee * LTR visa processing fee at each Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General is based on the fee in Thailand (50,000 THB per person per 10 years), but may vary and is usually more than the fee in Thailand, depending on the currency rate and the additional fee which might be applied in some countries.
Please note that the processing fee for the e-Visa application is non-refundable. In case the e-Visa application is rejected due to incorrect information, mistyped letters, etc., a new e-Visa application shall require the applicant to withdraw and re-submit and the applicant has to pay for the processing fee again in full.
It is advisable that you contact Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General, who is the main responsible organization of the e-Visa, for further advice and suggestion prior to applying for the e-Visa
Visa period and staying permission
According to the annoucement of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, the applicant who passed the qualifications endorsement for LTR visa (and has had the visa issued in the period within 60 days from the date of qualifications endorsement letter issuance) will receive the 10-year visa stamp from the Immigration/Thai Embassy on the date of your LTR Visa issuance. However, the immigrantion will grant the permission to stay in Thailand with unlimited accesses to the Royal Thai Kingdom (multiple re-entry) for no more than 5 years. This means that you will get a 5-year visa stamp first. And, before the expiration of your first staying permission, your qualifications and criteria will be verified again (you will be required to submit documents and proof via the system). If your qualifications and criteria do not meet the requirement e.g. for Wealthy Global Citizens catagory, if the value of your investment in Thailand is less than USD 500,000 because you sold your property, or have canceled your health insurance and did not have a proof of the health insurance for the past years* etc., in such cases, the LTR visa shall be revoked.
* Remarks:
* You are required to report to LTR Visa unit if your purpose of staying in Thailand is different to the purpose you applied for the LTR visa i.e. For LTR : W and LTR- H as staying in Thailand with an incorrect type of visa might be against the law.4. WORK PERMIT APPLICATION AND ISSUANCE
LTR Visa holders who work for an entity in Thailand are required to apply for permission to work immediately after receiving LTR Visa or before employment with an entity in Thailand starts
After LTR Visa issuance, LTR Visa holders are required to apply for a work permit for their employment in Thailand via LTR Visa application system. The process takes 3-5 working days (processing time might take longer if additional documents are requested).
Once the work permit request is approved, LTR Visa holders can make an appointment to collect the work permit at the Department of Employment at One Stop Service Center for Visa and Work Permit, Chamchuri Square Building, Bangkok. The processing fee is 3,000 Baht per year to maintain the work permit.
* Note:
- While the work permit request is still in process, LTR Visa holders are temporarily allowed to work in Thailand without the work permit.
- Work permit will not be granted for Work-From-Thailand Professionals holders since foreigners under this LTR Visa category are applying for the purpose of working for foreign employer abroad remotely from Thailand. Therefore, the person do not have Thai employers according to the digital work permit purpose.
Change of employment for LTR: Highly-Skilled Professionals
LTR: Highly-Skilled Professionals holders who would like to change their employer in Thailand are required to inform LTR Visa unit prior the resignation and must get an official approval for the new employer to sustain the status of LTR- H visa before the current employment terminated. The new company must be endorsed as a company under LTR Visa’s targeted industries. In case the new company does not qualify for LTR Visa, the current LTR: Highly-Skilled Professionals visa must be terminated once the employment with the current company ends.
